More than 10,000 Baby Boomers become eligible for Medicare every day and may need help understanding their Medicare options. As an independent sales agent that sells UnitedHealthcare plans, you’ll be paid a commission for new enrollments and be eligible for renewal commissions when you retain your clients. This opportunity can allow you to increase your income as you grow your business over time. You truly define your financial success – the harder you work, the more you can earn.

Job Requirements:

Responsibilities:

  • Consult with eligible consumers to understand their health care needs and provide education on UnitedHealthcare coverage options.
  • Make plan recommendations and enroll consumers in the appropriate plan.
  • Become well versed in the UnitedHealthcare value proposition and communicate UnitedHealthcare differentiators to consumers.
  • Use technology to conduct business and attend UnitedHealthcare-provided online training.
  • Set goals and develop a business plan focused on relationship building within your local community. Detail the tactics and set deadlines to help hold you accountable to your own goals.
  • Service your clients by assisting them with questions and help them take advantage of their plan benefits.
  • Maintain relationships with clients to support them when their needs change with alternative coverage options.
  • Generate referrals from quality client service.
  • Conduct year-round events and activities to generate leads.
  • Be resourceful and self-sufficient in an independent role with the support of a local management team.
  • Understand and maintain compliance with required rules and regulations around consumer’s private health information, marketing, and other CMS regulations.
  • Engage in local opportunities, events, meetings, and trainings.

Required Qualifications:

  • Ambition to start your own business, including business planning, marketing, event planning, servicing of clients, and retention.
  • Comfortable working in a commission only sales role.
  • Compassion and patience to help work with consumers with complex needs.
  • Licensed to sell health insurance. If you do not have a license, we will guide you on the steps to get your state producer license.
  • Motivated, eager to learn, self-starter, team player, resourceful, independent.
  • Driven to make a positive impact. Bonus: You have an interest in health care access and a compassion for the aging population.
  • Commitment to the values of compassion, integrity, relationships, innovation, and performance. Ethical behavior and integrity are a must.
  • Comfortable using technology, able to learn new platforms, familiar with remote meeting environments.
  • Bonus: Multilingual.
